FlautistsFinnish Flute Concert in Vernon Park, Stockport

Sunday, 20th of August 2006 at 2 - 4 pm

FREE OF CHARGE

Jalas, a group of Finnish flautists from Jalasjarvi, Finland will be taking part in the Manchester International Flute Festival 17 – 21 August 2006. As part of their visit to the Northwest, they will be performing Finnish music at the historic Vernon Park in Stockport.

Come and enjoy the beautiful programme performed by these world class flautists, put together especially by the group leader, Auli Tuohimaki, for our Finnish community in Manchester/Northwest. The Park Manager is quite happy for us to bring a picnic and a bottle of wine, so let’s hope for sunny weather!

Vernon Park is Stockport’s oldest public park lying just to the east of the town centre. It is an exceptional Victorian / Edwardian asset and provides beautifully restored areas of formal and informal parkland. Vernon Park is designated Grade II in the English Heritage Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, and is an important example of an early public park (first opened in 1858).
