FINNFEST 16.6.07
In collaboration with Finn-Guild, the Finnish School in Manchester welcomes you to FinnFest - a celebration of all things Finnish! The event, which will bring Finns from all the UK to Manchester, marks the school's 30th Anniversary, Finn-Guild's 40th Anniversary and the 90th Anniversary of Finnish Independance.
FinnFest takes place on 16th June 2007, from 12noon until late, in Vernon Park, Stockport (see below for directions).
The day will include a wide range of Finnish culture and activities to suit all age ranges, including music, dancing, Finnish cuisine, arts & crafts, not to mention the acclaimed Finnish game of mobile phone throwing! (See below for full programme of events - subject to confirmation).
Stockport's historic Vernon Park is well worth a visit in itself. Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, it has recently been restored to its
former Victorian and Edwardian splendour. The Park will make an attractive backdrop to all the fun and activities.
Tickets are £10 per adult, children FREE.
More information about Vernon Park can be found on http://www.stockport.gov.uk/content/leisureculture/parksrecreation/parks/vernonpark/.
