Independence Day Party 6.12
Come and celebrate Finnish Independence day with us in Liverpool 6.12.2008
The Finnish Community in and around Liverpool is organising several events this year to celebrate the Finnish Independence Day and warmly welcomes all Finns and their friends from the Manchester school to the festivities (there will be no separate party in Manchester this year). The programme is as follows:
2pm Coffee and pulla + something to nibble
3pm Talk: Craig Gerrard: Finnish-British relations during second world war (in English)
Kati Nurmi: Finnish topography through works of art by Finnish artists / Suomen topografia suomalaisten taiteilijoiden teosten kautta
4pm Film: Christmas Story / Joulutarina ( English sub-titles)
6pm Dinner: Finnish delicacies - Juhlaillallinen - suomalainen pitopoyta perinteisine herkkuineen
During dinner, we will be entertained by a Kalevala performance, music, singing etc.
There are exhibitions and DVD films about Finland at the Church all day long.
Prices:
Coffee £ 4 adults, £ 1 children ( 5-15 years) under 5 years – no charge.
Nordlinc, which is associated with the church, organises the film showing. Tickets: £ 4.50 adults, £1 children 5-15 years, no charge for under 5s
Dinner £15 adults , £5 children ( 5-15 years) no charge for under 5s.
