Welcome to the Finnish School in Manchester
Welcome to the Finnish School in Manchester! Come along and meet fellow Finns and Finnish-British families. Family and friends also welcome!
The Finnish School in Manchester was founded in 1977 and is supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education. It is a registered charity (charity no: 1058741) and is a politically and religiously non-aligned voluntary organisation. The Finnish School in Manchester is a member of the Finland Society (Suomi-Seura) and participates in the Finnish Expatriate Parliament. We are also actively involved in the Friendship Circle, which helps Finns in difficulties. | ![]() |
![]() | We maintain a close relationship with Finn-Guild, who in 2005 celebrated their 40th Anniversary. Finn-Guild support our school and the Finnish Community by awarding regional grants for cultural activities, providing teacher training, running a website (www.finn-guild.org) and quarterly newsletter (Horisontti), financing the annual Guild Pesis (Finnish Baseball) Tournament, organising cheap flights to Finland, posting our communications and generally being helpful when needed. Kiitos Killalle! |
In 2002 we celebrated our 25th Birthday with a traditional Finnish “Jytkyt” Dance. With your support, we look forward to celebrating our next 25 years!
